Math homework tonight. Lessons 6 and 8 in the back. Also rough drafts on the History report should have begun officially today. Monday we will bring them in and make corrections and adjustments.

Bible test tomorrow. I passed out a study sheet. All questions on the study sheet will be on the test.

Also, I found a blog that may interest you as parents. It's written by Cary Schmidt who used to be my youth pastor. He works in the ministry at Lancaster Baptist Church, my home church, and is the head youth pastor. He is by far one of the greatest youth leaders for Independent Baptist Church teaching over 800 teens on a weekly basis. I know that his site will be a help to you in raising up your kids.

Test tomorrow in History over chapter 12. I will review tomorrow. I wrote what geographical locations will be needed to know for the test. English homework was finished in class today. There may be homework in Bible class depending on whether they got it done in class or not. History books should be read, starting tomorrow we will be working on rough drafts. I decreased the page for the final draft from 5 pages to 3.

Happy Birthday again to Jackie, thanks for the pizza.

No Homework tonight. This is because I want you guys to study for your Science test and to read your History books. Remember, while reading your history books you need to have something to write down important/interesting things that you read and on what page they were on. That way you start your paper you have a lot of note cards you can turn to and what pages all that stuff is on. (I think that made sense)

Also, Parents, I'm really having a hard time getting the class to focus back in since the break. Help me by talking to them maybe.

Thanks!

Ok, in the midst of reviewing for the Science Test tomorrow I realized that the students were in need of more study/review time. So, tomorrow we will be taking our Chapter 6 Test in Science. This test will only be on chapter 6. I reviewed and went over all the questions on the tests. They were to write down any terms/questions which they didn't know the answers to so they could study better. That test will be given tomorrow. The Science Test over Chapters 1-6 was moved to Thursday (11th) to allow more review time. We did have our spelling test today and will begin a more normal weekly schedule with our spelling tests. The next spelling test will be this Friday (12th).

The book reports are being done on a step by step basis. The last report that I assigned showed me that pretty much most of the class didn't know how to do a book report. In doing it step by step, for example, picking a book, reading it, writing important facts, rough drafts, final drafts, I am able to teach them every step of the report process. Right now they are to have picked out a book and to be reading from it.

Homework tonight is Math lesson 91 in the back of the book.

Ok, heads up...Change of plans on the Science Test. That will be next Tuesday and the spelling test is being moved from this Friday to Monday. There will be a math quiz also next Tuesday.

Homework tonight is Math lesson 88. I also assigned Bible reading. The book of Ecclesiastes will have to be read by Monday. They already read chapters 1-4 today in class. Report cards should be turned in by now.

Welcome Back!

Spelling Test this Friday. Also, huge Science Test next Friday which covers the entire book! We will be writing down important terms throughout the book. Those are due next Monday. Also, a book report was assigned for History. Right now the students need to be focusing on finding a book. They will show me the book that they have chosen on Friday. The requirements for the report are as follows:

5 Pages typed
Double Spaced
Times New Romans 12point font
Need at least 3 sources one of which needs to be a book (Due Friday)
They can use websites but any material that is quoted will HAVE to be sited with an endnote
They can pick from an important even in History or an important person

If you have questions feel free to ask.

Homework tonight is to work on Science terms and Bible.

The Bible assignment is that they have to pick a topic listed in their book (lesson 27) and write out at least 20 verses on that topic. They will need a concordance or topical bible. If neither are available I told them they could do an internet search. Here is a good website or if you know of another that's fine, just make sure they're writing KJV.
