Tests tomorrow in History and Science. You guys have study sheets already made for science. You are working on your chapter checkup 8 study sheet tonight. Look over your material about 3 times and you should be good. Pay attention to tomorrows review. Keep looking over terms you are unsure about and you'll do well. I promise.
Wednesday there is Bible Test.
Thursday Bible Quiz.

Homework light tonight. Map Master pg 57. Cheers!
Oh one other thing. The following students have not turned in their Ruth Project. Thought some of you parents would like to know considering this is a Test grade for Bible.
Ayrene
JD
Tai
Jarinn
Jacob
John
Luke
Kip
Sam
Makana
Josh P.
Kaulana
Devon
Sydney S
Traigh
Now, some of these students did do it but not how they were supposed to. I have given them another chance and another week to complete this project. However, that was only a few. Right now those students have 0's in the grade book until I see the project. There have only been two tests this quarter so a 0 + 1 other grade can really mess up your GPA. That's all.

Most of you guys finished this today in class, for those of you who didn't. Get to it!
Also Parents, I saw this website and I thought it was an interesting read. Characteristics and Behaviors of the Gifted.
Also, we had a discussion in class about not being the 9th planet anymore. Here is a neat video about Bill Nye and what he thinks:

Sorry for not updating, I've been scheduling and preparing for Parent Teacher Conferences. Homework tonight is light, basically anything they didn't finish in class. There is a Language Test tomorrow over punctuation and capitalization. The first quarter is over and all grades recorded from Monday on will be in the second quarter. Report cards will be sent home with the folders and will be discussed at Parent Teacher conferences.
Also, one thing that I've been wanting to do is post pictures of the class as we do activities. For example the symphony yesterday. I'm sure most of you would like to see pictures of your cute kids. I will be sending home a letter or you can comment that it's fine.
Thanks,
Joe

Homework:
Math pg 81-82
Science read pg 214-219 and complete 3.8, some students may say that they have already done this. I am having them redo this assignment.
Language - Pg. 68-70 Task A,B, and C
Bible - Lesson 13, Section 1 and 2
Also, we will be going on a field trip on October 17th. Volunteers have already been notified and assigned. Students should bring home a note today however we know that these things may disappear without trace or rememberance. So:
On Tuesday, October 17th 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classes will be going to The Honolulu Symphony. The cost of this excursion is $6.25. Please place the correct amount in an envelope with your student's name and field trip destination on the envelope and turn it in to the classroom teacher by Monday, October 16th. School uniforms are to be worn.
Special instructions: The students will be going ot a park for lunch and a short play time so lunches and drinks must be brought in disposable containers to be thrown away after lunch.

PICTURE DAY TOMORROW!
Quiz tomorrow in Science.
3.3-3.4 - We've heavily reviewed this stuff so you guys should know it. Still, look in your books for about 15-30 minutes reviewing terms. Don't forget that tomorrow is picture day! I always forget so I set up a reminder. Make sure you do your hair and brush your teeth, that means you Sam. :-)
Take care guys.

Quizzes
The History and Math Quizzes were postponed until tomorrow. We had a record number of absences on Monday and thought it not fair that I reviewed and they weren't there. So, tomorrow will be our History, Math, and Bible Quiz.
Don't forget your memory verse Joshua 21:25
Friday we will be simulating a volcanic explosion so, if you could bring a 2-Liter bottle of soda and a pack of Mentos (Original). If you're wondering why, check out the video:
