Homework tonight is Math Lesson 85 in the back of the book

Science Test was changed to a History Test on Friday over chapters 10-11.
Also on Friday there will be a verse test over Psalms chapter 1.
As usual there's a Vocab Test on Friday.

Monday we're having a Christmas Party. It'll be a fun day and Tuesday I believe the school is doing something special. That's All!

Wednesday, December 06, 2006

Math homework tonight.

Quiz in Science tomorrow. We'll be going over it tomorrow.

Friday is a spelling test and a Science Test. Science Test is over chapter 5.

Next Friday is a big Bible test. The kids are memorizing Psalms chapter 1 and will have a test over it next Friday.

Also, everyone took a name out of a hat and will be buying/making Christmas presents for the name that they picked. I think this is great for class unity and morale if everyone ends up doing it. We will be trading gifts on Monday the 18th.

Monday, December 04, 2006

We did all the homework today in class but shhhhh!!! They don't know that...

For those of you who were ill we did History Check 10e and did the chapter checkup 10 which is due tomorrow. There will be a History test on Wednesday so make sure they're ready for that. Also next Friday they will be taking a test on Psalms 1. They will need to memorize it. They have written it twice and have it on a note card so they can study it. This should be easy for them to finish. They have well over a week to start memorizing, sadly I know that most will fail do to apathy so I ask you parents to help me remind them.

Science we did 5.8 and did the Comprehension Check and wrote the bold terms in that section.

So homework is done. They do need to study though for the upcoming History Test and verse test. Also, it looks like we will be having a Science Test on Friday if we keep moving at the pace we are so make sure they are ready for that. Spelling test on Friday as well.

Let me know if you all need anything. Oh yeah and I'll be passing the folders out tomorrow.

STUDY!

Tests tomorrow in History and Science. You guys have study sheets already made for science. You are working on your chapter checkup 8 study sheet tonight. Look over your material about 3 times and you should be good. Pay attention to tomorrows review. Keep looking over terms you are unsure about and you'll do well. I promise.

Wednesday there is Bible Test.

Thursday Bible Quiz.

Wednesday, October 25, 2006

Homework light tonight. Map Master pg 57. Cheers!

Oh one other thing. The following students have not turned in their Ruth Project. Thought some of you parents would like to know considering this is a Test grade for Bible.

Ayrene
JD
Tai
Jarinn
Jacob
John
Luke
Kip
Sam
Makana
Josh P.
Kaulana
Devon
Sydney S
Traigh

Now, some of these students did do it but not how they were supposed to. I have given them another chance and another week to complete this project. However, that was only a few. Right now those students have 0's in the grade book until I see the project. There have only been two tests this quarter so a 0 + 1 other grade can really mess up your GPA. That's all.

History: Pick a current event, news article, that you think is important. Write a brief paragraph about why you think it's important and what the article is about. That will be due on Friday

There is a Language Test tomorrow over punctuation and capitalization. The first quarter is over and all grades recorded from Monday on will be in the second quarter. Report cards will be sent home with the folders and will be discussed at Parent Teacher conferences.

Also, one thing that I've been wanting to do is post pictures of the class as we do activities. For example the symphony yesterday. I'm sure most of you would like to see pictures of your cute kids. I will be sending home a letter or you can comment that it's fine.

Except for you peeps that didn't get your Bible workbook finished. Remember Big BIG History Test on everything that we've learned so far. You guys should have your study sheets and your books and your geography books for tomorrow. We will review but make sure your read through your study guides. Try to figure out keen ways to remember facts like we were doing in review today. Most of you got A's and B's. Keep that up. Just take some time to do it.

STUDY!

Big History Test tomorrow and history quiz. I would look at your geography books or map in your history book and know the territories of Canada, the major seas and oceans of North America, and look at the map that shows you what a delta, mountain, peninsula, etc. are. Don't forget your science homeowork. I don't have it in front of my but I think it was 2.8-2.9. You guys should have it written down already and don't forget to do the comprehension check.

Monday, September 11, 2006

Tons of Studying!

Ok, I'll just lay it on yeah.

H/W for tonight:
-Finish up your assignment in your Bible Workbooks

Tomorrow:

Science Test (2.1-2.6)
History Quiz (4.1-4.6)

Wednesday:
History Quiz (4.4-4.6)
History Test Ch. 3-4

BTW Parents if you are wondering why we are taking a History Test and Quiz on the same day is because the test was originally to be taken on Monday. They wanted more time to study, I didn't have a problem with it but also told them they had a history quiz the same day and another History Test on Friday. They agreed it to it.

Language Test

Thursday:
Math Test
Bible Quiz

Friday:
Science 2.9-2.11
History Test Chapters 1-5 <---This is a big one guys
Vocab Test (List #5)

I also assigned an extra credit assignment to the students, I will be counting it as a Test grade for History. These are the requirements:

5 Page paper, typed, double-spaced, on any major historical event. By major I mean it changed the world. I also told them I don't want 10 papers on WWI or WWII. Think outside the box guys. From the beginning of time 'till now. Any important historical even and how it changed the world. I will read them and if it is well written with correct grammar and punctuation I will accept it. If I don't get a worthy paper it will not be accepted and not handed back for another try. There is no deadline for this, so take your time and make it worth reading.

Also, if you find this site to be of help and appreciate it do me a favor and make it known to the school office. It would help. Thanks and have a great day!

Geography...

Today the class did very well. They were all attentive and listening. We reviewed for our big Bible test. All those that listened did extremely well.

Homework:
Finish up Geography everything up to pg. 31

That's it.

Study for your Science quiz tomorrow over 2.3-2.6 and for your weekly vocab test.

Monday there will be another Science quiz and a big History Test. But no worries we will review and make study sheets tomorrow in class so you can study over the weekend.

I found this video on the internet. It's kinda cool and shows you how much a number can change just by adding a single '0'

Only one more day guys, then...Friday.

Wednesday, September 06, 2006

Today was a rough day. Parents I need your help keeping the kids in class quiet. Also, if your son or daughter is ever absent a day it is there responsibility to make up or ask me for the work, none the less, I still notify all students who are absent what they have missed, also on this blog they should have no excuse what there homework was and should have it ready to turn in.

H/W:

-Math Speed Drill Sheet that was passed out is due tomorrow
-Study the Egyptian plagues
-Memorize the books of the New Testament in order
-Be able to draw the Tabernacle with all parts, know what each part is and what it represents
-Know the 10 Commandments in order

Thursday:
-Language Test
-Bible Quiz (Lessons 6-7)

Friday:
Science Quiz (Sections 2.3-2.6)
Vocabulary Test

Another thing, I sent home the packets with school work today. Just so you know. Before a quiz I have the students study during any free time, I have them answer the questions after each section, and review with them daily. Before a quiz I review with them off the actual quiz. If they are paying attention they should get A's on all their tests and quizzes. When we finish a chapter I have them write down all important terms from that chapter with their definition. This becomes their study sheet that they can use before the Test/Quiz. I always tell them what they need to know. (For an example look at the top, I've given them what they need to know for their next Bible quiz) There is no reason why they should be doing bad on their tests and quizzes unless they are not paying attention, not listening, or not doing their work.

Tuesday, September 05, 2006

Priority: Study

We have a lot to get done at home today as far as studying goes.

Math

Only Homework tonight is to finish what you didn't finish in class. Do your work to Page 30 in your math book and don't forget to study for tomorrows tests.

Apologies

Sorry for not posting yesterday, I had some technical difficulties. Last night there was no homework, all they had to do was study for their Bible Test today. I need all your help with this. I review for tests beforehand, everyday I take time to review, I have them make study sheets and when the students are done with their work early I have them get out their books and study and I still end up having students bombing tests. There is no reason that this should happen. When I send the packets home to you please look at the test grades and if you have any questions or comments just email me or post a comment on this blog.

As far as the field trip is concerned, they are booked 'till October 5th, so what I want to do is take a bus to Hanauma Bay where we can snorkel and look at fish and stuff. I am shooting for September 11th. Also in side conversation, I have been talking to the students about music and I would really like to take the class to a symphony. I'll keep you all posted though.

Monday, August 28, 2006

Homework tonight:

Vocab all of page 7
Words x5

Mountain Pathways, read story on Page 69 and do the questions at the end of the chapter

See you guys tomorrow, hope you had fun today.

Friday, August 25, 2006

In order to do this though I'll need some parent's as chaperones. If you are interested let me know or comment here on the blog. I'll get pricing and other details once I know what they are.

Homework:
Checkpoint Chapter 3 pg. 49 - You shouldn't have much more to do. Don't forget that for section 17 you're going to do pg 15 of your Geography books.

Thursday, August 24, 2006
